Boys 13-17
At 13 years of age boys are starting to put into practice what they have learned as children. A lot of this is what they have been exampled. But this age is where the training and coaching happens. There are two main concepts that we support at this age.
1. Utilize a "Rite of Passage" from child to young young man to mark the new expectations.
2. Understand that your young man is just now learning to 'act' like a man.
As Joe Fribourg explains: When young men go to High School the rules are the same from Freshman to Senior. However, the expectations on them is different.

Below you will find resources that are separated into two categories; Gain Knowledge & Take Action
Gain Knowledge is focused on providing resources for you to use to become more fluent in the topic.
Take Action is focused on providing resources for you to go have experiences in the area.
We are careful to provide resources that we find 'Truth' in. We are not endorsing any one resource over any other as 'Truth' will meet you where you are at. But, for the most part these resources are Christian based.
How to Raise a Modern Day Knight - Robert Lewis
This is the best book we have found to guide an influencer through the process of executing a 'Rite of Passage' for their young man. This is also one of the books that our 'Bridge 2 Manhood' events is based on. This book shares the Why and the How. The 'what' is up to you!

Robert Lewis shares his personal journey, the influence of his dad, and the journey of executing a 'Rite of Passage' for his son. Plus, other examples from his inner group of men.

5 Guidances:

Fathers Group
Find a Fathers Group. This is a fellowship of men (fathers) that typically meet at 6:03 am on Friday Mornings. The goal is fellowship, support, and growth as a dad.

5 Guidances:
-
Check your local church or christian school.
-
Don't be shy about checking out a fathers group even if you don't associate with that church or school.
-
Each Fathers group operates a little differently, don't be discouraged if the first one doesn't fit you. I am sure there are more options.
-
Start your Own Fathers Group if you can't find one. (If you need help, reach out to us!)
-
Open up to the men there, you will find that the struggles you go through are not that different than other dads.
Bridge 2 Manhood (B2M)
Bridge 2 Manhood (B2M) is a training for dads and influencers on how to execute a 'Rite of Passage' for the young men/sons. We use 3 main resources to build this training: The Bible, How to Raise a Modern Day Knight - Robert Lewis, and Five Marks of a Man - Brian Tome.
The training lasts for about a month with 2 weeks of pre-work (approx 4-6 hours). Followed by a 3 hour training session. Then, you have two weeks to do the 'homework' (approx 4-8 hours). Last is another 3 hour training session. The goal for you at the end of the last session is for you to walk out with a plan for your young man's Rite of Passage.

This is not a 'silver bullet' for your son to become a man, but it is an opportunity to intentionally build into them a new expectation, identity, and vision of their future.

Check it out, reach out to us if you have quesitons
-
It is never to late to do this. If you have an 18 or 26 year old, there is opportunity to be intentional and build into them.
-
There is no right way to do this, we are just offering a training and structure for you to do it your way
-
Focus on who God made your young man to be.
-
DO SOMETHING! Even if you can't do the training, read the resources and DO SOMETHING! It will be more powerful than you could ever imagine.
Son's Camp
Son's Camp is a 3 day - 2 night camp that caters to Fathers with Sons from 7-17 years old.
We understand that there are many organizations out there that facilitate camping with your children. Son's Camp has a little different focus. We drive a shared experience (journey) for Fathers and Sons that reach our objectives below:
Our Objectives for Son's Camp:
-
For sons to enter manhood with a strong identity as a Son of God.
-
State and affirm our Sons' identity as a Son of God
-
Build into Father-Son Relationships

5 Guidances:
-
Check it out, reach out to us if you have questions.
-
This is a spiritual 'journey' for you and your child/young adult to go on.
-
We split up the sons into two core groups 7-12 (playing) and 13-17 (working) so that the 5 Marks of a man can be experienced by those groups in a meaningful way.
-
If you can't come to our camp or want to do something like this on your own, please reach out to us and we will help in any way we can.
-
Again, DO SOMETHING, to be intentional in raising your son to be a man.
